We have been applying for funding and hopefully, in the near future, we can lower the participation fee. Until then, we just need to keep the lights on. The files must be cropped 30 x 40 cm (11.81 x 15.75 inches) or square size 30 x 30 cm (11.81 x 11.81 inches) and sent via email when requested. There will be a picture of every individual work on the wall and pictures of people visiting the exhibition. Also, there will be an Artfacts listing. So, there will be plenty of documentation of your participation. Only artists residing in São Paulo, Brazil, are eligible to exhibit their original artworks. They must personally deliver their artwork to the gallery one week prior to the start of the exhibition and sign a consignment agreement. Furthermore, they must arrange for the collection of their artwork at the conclusion of the exhibition. Some future exhibitions will be only for artists that we have already worked with and their prints are in our storage. If the artist prefers not to keep it in our storage, we can destroy it. We tried that in the past and it didn't work out. International postal service from Brazil to overseas is expensive (around £50) and unreliable. It tracks only inside the country. So we are not offering that option anymore. If you would like to have a fine art print of your work, we recommend The Printspace in London. They have good prices, and they ship internationally. The artworks are allocated based on style, orientation, technical specifications, colours, etc. The curator carefully plans the placement of each work to ensure consistency throughout the show. Please note that the decisions are final and not open for discussion. As a cultural centre, our role differs from that of a commercial gallery; hence, we abstain from participating in the sales process between artists and collectors. Should a collector express interest in a piece, the artist will be directly connected to them by the curator, facilitating independent negotiations without any commission from us. Being artists, we recognise the value of establishing direct connections between artists and collectors. Artists cannot submit an application independently. Every proposal must be developed with a partner organization that commits financial support, professional mentorship, and continued engagement before, during, and after the residency. Reviewers evaluate the artistic proposal alongside the strength of this institutional relationship, the feasibility of the residency plan, and the project’s connection to the French and Paris-region cultural ecosystem. Strong applications demonstrate why the residency requires time in Paris, how the partner organization will actively support the work, and how the proposed research can benefit from sustained engagement with local artistic communities. Contemporary Performance Network members receive detailed Strategy Coach Notes that examine the evaluation criteria, application materials, reviewer priorities, and practical strategies for building a stronger submission. About the Paris Artist Residency The Institut français x Cité internationale des arts Residency Program is one of France’s largest international artist mobility programs. Each year it brings nearly seventy artists and cultural professionals from around the world to Paris to develop research and creative projects across disciplines including theatre, dance, performance, visual arts, music, literature, cinema, architecture, design, digital creation, photography, fashion, gastronomy, criticism, curating, crafts, circus arts, puppetry, and urban planning. Residents are based at the historic Marais site of Cité internationale des arts, where private furnished studios are combined with access to professional artistic facilities and an international community of practitioners. The program is administered by Institut français in partnership with Cité internationale des arts and supported by the French Ministry of Culture and the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs. What Is Offered - Furnished private live-work studio at Cité internationale des arts in the Marais district of Paris. - Minimum residency grant of €1,100 per month, paid directly by the partner organization. - International travel costs funded by the partner organization. - Health, repatriation, and civil liability insurance funded by the partner organization. - Visa fees funded by the partner organization where applicable. - Access to an auditorium. - Access to three exhibition spaces. - Access to eight rehearsal studios. - Access to shared printmaking, screen-printing, and ceramics workshops. - Opportunity to participate in one of France’s largest international artist residency programs, supporting nearly seventy residents annually across all artistic disciplines. Who Should Apply This residency is intended for established artists and cultural professionals who already maintain an active professional practice and can demonstrate a clearly defined research or creative project. Applicants must have lived outside France for at least five years, possess professional proficiency in either French or English, and be available for the full residency period. The program is open across numerous disciplines, including theatre, dance, performance, visual arts, cinema, digital creation, music, literature, architecture, design, photography, fashion, gastronomy, criticism, curating, crafts, and street arts. Applicants should begin by identifying an appropriate partner organization. Because organizations submit applications on behalf of artists and commit to financial and professional support, building this relationship is the first stage of the application process rather than the final administrative step. Projects that already have meaningful connections to Paris or the wider Île-de-France artistic community are particularly well positioned. Paris Artist Residency Timeline Applications Open: July 1, 2026 Application Deadline: October 8, 2026, 11:59 PM CET Selection Committee: December 2026 Results Announced: January 2027 Residencies Take Place: April 2027 through April 2028 Available Residency Lengths: 3 months, 6 months, or 9 months Residency Periods - April 9 to July 5, 2027 - July 9 to October 4, 2027 - October 8, 2027 to January 3, 2028 - January 7 to April 3, 2028 Why The Paris Artist Residency Matters Few international residency programs operate at this scale while welcoming artists from every discipline and every region of the world. The Institut français x Cité internationale des arts Residency Program combines sustained time for research with direct access to one of Europe’s most active cultural capitals. Its emphasis on institutional partnership also encourages projects that extend beyond an individual residency and develop lasting professional relationships. Artists who already collaborate with cultural organizations, festivals, universities, production companies, museums, or independent arts organizations will find a framework designed to strengthen those relationships while expanding their international networks through a significant period of research and creative development in Paris. If you have experience creating AI-based artwork, I would love to hear about your creative process, thoughts on AI ethics, and reflections on the relationship between human creativity and AI. Interviews last 30–45 minutes. This research study, titled "Generative AI in Visual Art Practice: Rethinking Creativity, AI Ethics and Human-Machine Relationship", explores the impact of generative AI on artistic creativity, AI ethics in creative practice, and the evolving relationship between human creators and AI. It is part of my PhD research in Visual Culture at the University of Aberdeen and has received ethical approval the Committee for Research Ethics & Governance in Arts, Social Sciences & Business. I am looking for participants aged 18 or older who have experience with generative AI art practice, ideally those who have created AI-based videos, films, paintings, installations, or similar works. Participation involves a single semi-structured interview lasting approximately 30–45 minutes, typically conducted online via Microsoft Teams. You may optionally share examples of your AI-based artwork during the interview to support the discussion of your creative process. The interview will be audio-recorded for research analysis purposes. After this point in time, it may not be possible to delete existing information about you where it is already being processed or published as part of the research data and removing the information would affect the integrity of the research already undertaken. You may optionally share examples of your generative AI artwork before or during the interview to facilitate discussion of your creative process. The interview will be audio-recorded using Teams recording functionality for research analysis purposes. You can take breaks during the interview or decline to answer any questions. Participants will receive compensation if they have completed the interview or participated in part of the interview process. Participants who withdraw before the interview takes place will not receive compensation. Participation is entirely voluntary and you can withdraw at any time before, during, or within 4 weeks after the interview without providing a reason. If any discussion brings up discomfort, you will be offered a break, or the conversation can be stopped. You are always in control of how much you choose to share. ÖRES
ÖRES Open Call 2027 Deadline: 09 Oct 2026 Country: Finland ÖRES offers artists and researchers a chance to work in a unique natural environment in Finland. The facilities are located in Örö, a former military fortress island in the Archipelago National Park. The artists-run programme focuses on new and experimental fields of art, art-science collaborations and interdisciplinary projects. Duration of residency One or two months. Accommodation Our residency house has two apartments for the artists. One apartment can accommodate 1-4 adults or a small family comfortably. We provide the artist either a private apartment or a private room in a shared apartment. This is negotiated on a case-by-case basis depending on availability, the artists’ wishes and whether they arrive solo or with a family, partner or a peer. Disciplines, work equipment and assistance Our main focus is visual artists working in media, video, sound and bio art, as well as other experimental fields of art and art-science collaborations. Writers, dancers and curators are also welcome to apply. We also encourage researchers in humanistic and social sciences with critical and interdisciplinary approaches to apply. In addition to individuals, any organizations in the fields of art, culture and research are also welcome to apply with their projects. Due to the remote location of the island and the solitude of the winter months, the residency programme is retreat-like and works on a self-service basis. The residency is mostly run remotely. Our live-work spaces are equipped mostly for “office” type of work. Displays, projectors and audio equipment are provided for video and sound artists. The spaces can also be used for small-scale sculpture, painting and prototyping work as long as the artist takes care of protecting the surfaces. Basic woodworking and other hand tools are provided.Studio / Workspace The rooms function as a combined work and living space. Both apartments have two rooms and a kitchen, so when artist has the whole apartment, the other room can be dedicated as a studio. Upon request, temporary extra working space, suitable for rough/messy work, may be arranged in the nearby buildings.Fees and support No fees. The residency is free of charge. We are not able to cover your travel costs, materials, food or other daily expenses. However we can provide letters of invitation upon request to help you apply funding. A deposit of 100 euros is required from the selected artists. The deposit will be returned after the residency when we have received an online report from the artist. Expectations towards the artist We do not expect the artist to produce finished works during the residency period. The residency may be used as a catalyst for further work or to concentrate in some vital phase in the artists’ ongoing projects. After the residency period the artists are required to complete a short report of their experience. We are also offering the artists an option to participate in our summer exhibition and other exhibition opportunities we might arrange. Application information The application process is completed by submitting the application form online. This open call invites artists to explore the topic of Food in its many forms, whether literal or figurative. Food is never just food. It is material, metaphor, ritual, and resource. It feeds not only bodies, but identities, cultures, economies, and memories. We invite artists to submit works in various media that explore the layered theme of Food. From harvest to hunger, feast to waste, we are seeking work that examines the complex role food plays in shaping our relationships with ourselves, society, and the systems that sustain or exploit us. Whether a symbol of celebration or scarcity, food is deeply personal, political, ecological, and sensual. This is a call to artists to trace the visible and invisible systems that feed us, and to ask: What does it mean to be nourished in a time of both abundance and imbalance? All media are welcome, including painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, installation and audio-visual submissions. We look forward to seeing how you weave your story into this exhibition! We welcome works in all mediums. All work will be juried by an independent juror: Janice Beaudoin The Juror of the exhibition will only see your image, your medium, and your artist statement. You will have 1000 words to create an artist statement that situates the work submitted with your artist practice and the theme of the show. You must spend some time composing it, as the juror will use it in considering how the work relates to the theme and understanding the nature of the work. Please keep in mind that your statement will be used verbatim in the exhibition book that will be sent to Library and Archives Canada as a permanent record of the exhibition and your work. For image quality, see submission guidelines on the Metchosin ArtPod website. ArtCall will time out after an hour and anything not saved will disappear, so it is recommended that for longer text you writing it in a word processor then cut and paste the passage into ArtCall. Also, update (Save) the submission frequently with the update button at the end of the page. - A $10 submission fee is charged for each art work submitted, and those accepted into the show will require a hanging fee of $20 (known as "booth fee" in ArtCall). Please use the drop down menu and request a 1x1x1 booth on the submission form. - ArtPod charges 30% commission on art work sold during the show. Here is a quick tutorial for you to watch to help you with the submission process.

Applicants submit work samples, a statement of interest, descriptions of two recent projects or bodies of work, a résumé or CV, website and Instagram information, and ranked session preferences. The statement specifically asks applicants to address why Djerassi, how the residency will affect their work, and why this is a pivotal moment in their career. Join the Contemporary Performance network to access the Strategy Coach Notes, where we break down the selection criteria, application structure, work-sample strategy, and how to position your practice for this specific residency. About the Djerassi Artist Residency The Djerassi Resident Artists Program has supported artists for more than four decades and reports that more than 2,700 writers, visual and media artists, composers, choreographers, filmmakers, and scientists have participated. Its 583-acre property provides a retreat environment centered on uninterrupted working time. For 2027, Djerassi anticipates accommodating approximately 40 to 45 new artists across five residency sessions. The standard Artist Cohorts include writers, visual artists, composers, choreographers, and media artists. Applicants choose the category that best represents their primary practice and may apply in only one category during the application cycle. Artists whose practices span several fields can identify that within their materials. Media Arts / New Genres specifically includes film, video, sound, performance, experimental theater, and interdisciplinary or technology-driven work. What Is Offered - A private live/work studio with bed, linens, and workspace suited to the artist’s discipline - Chef-prepared dinners on weeknights - Kitchens stocked for breakfasts, lunches, and weekends - Laundry facilities on site - Access to 583 acres of trails, redwoods, and site-specific sculptures - A small cross-disciplinary community of residents - SFO airport pickup and return - Local transportation during the residency - A full month of uninterrupted time for creative work Artists must pay their own travel costs to the Bay Area. Djerassi does not pay for flights or reimburse travel expenses. Who Should Apply Djerassi accepts national and international applicants. Its application guidelines identify visual artists, composers, choreographers, media artists, writers, and scientists applying through Leonardo@Djerassi as eligible. Degree-seeking students may apply. The program’s 2027 materials state that applicants must be age 21 or older and able to speak English fluently. Application materials must be submitted in English. Applicants choose one application category: - Literature - Visual Arts - Music Composition - Choreography - Media Arts / New Genres - Leonardo@Djerassi For Contemporary Performance readers, the Media Arts / New Genres category explicitly includes performance, experimental theater, interdisciplinary work, film, video, sound, and technology-driven work. Choreography covers dance and movement-based practices. Djerassi Artist Residency Timeline - Applications Open: September 1, 2026 - Application Webinar: September 23, 2026, 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM, America/Los_Angeles time - Deadline: October 9, 2026 - Notifications: December 31, 2026, tentative - Session One: February 16–March 16, 2027 - Session Two: March 30–April 27, 2027 - Session Three, Leonardo@Djerassi: June 22–July 27, 2027 - Session Four: August 17–September 14, 2027 - Session Five: October 19–November 16, 2027 Applicants to the Artist Cohorts rank session preferences. Leonardo@Djerassi applicants apply specifically to Leonardo and cannot list the other cohorts. Residents must commit to the full residency session. Why The Djerassi Artist Residency Matters Djerassi provides a specific resource that can be difficult for independent artists to secure: a full month of dedicated working time with housing, workspace, meals, and local transportation covered by the program. The residency does not require applicants to propose a completed production. The application instead asks artists to establish the strength of their existing practice, their readiness to use the residency period, and the potential impact of that time on their work. Those priorities are stated directly in Djerassi’s selection criteria. For performance, experimental theater, choreography, and interdisciplinary artists, the application categories explicitly accommodate these practices. The principal artist expense is travel to the Bay Area, in addition to the $35 application fee. More details Shifting Ground: International Environmental Photography Open Call Deadline: 09/10/2026City: Kamnik | Country: Slovenia | 13 b Call for entries! 13b is looking for photography submissions for their international exhibition ‘Shifting Ground’. This is a great opportunity to expand your network and get greater exposure by exhibiting your work in front of an international audience. 13b is proud to present ‘Shifting Ground’, a group environmental photography exhibition which will examine a planet in flux as the boundary between the wild and the built world rapidly dissolves. Arriving on the heels of what has been, in many places, the hottest summer on record, the exhibition responds to our rapidly changing climate and environment. Moving far beyond traditional, passive landscapes, ‘Shifting Ground’ plans to utilise contemporary art as a vital medium to transform abstract ecological data—from accelerating climate patterns to heavily industrialised terrains—into deeply visceral, intimate human encounters. By contrasting the haunting, sublime beauty of human-altered geography with the everyday lives of communities navigating these disruptions, the featured artists will challenge us to confront our own roles within these changing systems. Ultimately, this collection will demonstrate that environmental photography is no longer just a passive window to the outside world, but a stark, poetic mirror reflecting the delicate, high-stakes symbiosis of modern human life and the earth we inhabit. Submission Details: Artists can submit up to 3 images from which ONE will be selected for the show. Successful artists will be asked to email us a high-resolution image of the chosen work. Selected artists will have their work displayed in a 4-week-long exhibition in our gallery, with their work also appearing online on our social media pages with a link to their websites. We will print all images A4 size, and each photograph will also be individually mounted and framed, so no need to post anything. Every contribution must be an original artwork. Submissions are FREE. If your work is selected, there will be a participation fee of 24 euros via PayPal to help us cover the cost of printing/installation materials and admin/marketing, including flyers and the public PV. AIR 2027 for global artists in Egypt Deadline: 09 Oct 2026 Country: Egypt Out of the Circle is a private arts entity based in Cairo, Egypt. We offer a platform that facilitates and curates events, art residencies, artistic research and exhibitions. Our aim is to be a bridge connecting the arts scene in Egypt and North Africa with our international peers in a two-way exchange: creating opportunities to promote local artists globally on the one hand, whilst simultaneously bringing international artists into the fold of Egypt and North Africa’s art community. This is the philosophy at the heart of our organisation – empowering local creatives from Egypt and North Africa to access opportunities outside of their usual ‘circle’, and bringing international creatives from around the world into Egypt and North Africa, with all the opportunities for growth, collaboration, and inspiration that entails. As part of this two-way exchange, we offer an ongoing Art Residency program. The title begins with a contradiction: no one can see from everywhere. Rather than seeking a single, universal viewpoint, it places different positions alongside one another, forming a view that belongs to no one person or place. Shown salon-style, works appear in close proximity, creating unexpected connections across geography, medium and subject. Curated by Nelson Qin, it asks what becomes visible when many partial views are brought together. Who can apply: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older by the application deadline. What you get: - Participate in ArtEvol 2026 at Saatchi Gallery, London. - Your works will be feature in our printed and digital catalogues (both exhibiting and shortlisted artists), shared with curators, collectors, and institutions. - Media promotion through London Art Collective’s social media, newsletters, and press network. - The selected works will be featured on the official LAC SHOP platform, professionally presented and promoted to an international network of collectors and institutional buyers. - Sales support is provided. - Take part in live artist talks, networking events, and public programmes. - Support from the London Art Collective curatorial and marketing teams.
